In an item published by the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) about its meeting with Agoda on 6 October 2026, the BOI described the online accommodation platform, part of Booking Holdings, as an example of Bangkok's role as a technology talent hub. The BOI supports Agoda under its International Business Center (IBC) category.

According to the BOI, Bangkok is Agoda's largest regional office worldwide and its Global Tech & Operations Hub. Agoda employs about 4,500 people in Thailand, more than half of them Thai, plus about 2,000 foreign staff from more than 80 countries, and occupies seven floors, totalling more than 30,000 square metres, at One Bangkok.

The BOI says the Immigration Bureau, the Department of Employment and the BOI have helped streamline visas and work permits for such staff through the Thailand Investment and Expat Service Center (TIESC) at One Bangkok. It also notes Agoda's student programmes with Thai universities, including an internship programme for more than 500 students a year. Figures are as stated by the BOI and may change.
