TAGTHAi, described by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) as Thailand's national tourism platform for travel planning, tourism services and digital payments, has extended its TAGTHAi Easy Pay e-wallet across participating shopping malls through a five-partner arrangement announced in Bangkok on 1 September 2026. The partners are KASIKORNBANK (KBank), Siam Piwat, The Mall Group and MBK Public Company Limited.

Easy Pay is an e-wallet service designed for international visitors. According to TAT, it allows users to exchange money into Thai baht, top up the wallet, and pay by scanning Thai QR Payment codes nationwide. KBank provides the underlying payment infrastructure.

The retail partners cover a large share of central Bangkok's shopping capacity. Siam Piwat operates Siam Paragon, ICONSIAM and Siam Center; The Mall Group operates The Mall Lifestore, Emporium, EmQuartier and Emsphere; and MBK Center brings together more than 1,000 Thai SME shops, restaurants and services alongside Khon performances and Muay Thai. TAT notes that MBK Center was ranked fifth among Bangkok's top attractions for 2026 by TripAdvisor. Visitors who accumulate same-day spending at participating shops can receive rewards, which TAT lists as including a 300-baht discount on the TAGTHAi Bangkok Pass and a complimentary BTS One-Day Pass valued at 150 baht.

For visitors and residents alike, the practical point is that Thailand's QR-based payment system, long standard for domestic account holders, is becoming more accessible to short-stay international visitors without a Thai bank account. TAGTHAi Chief Executive Officer Kanokwan Boonchai said the service extends the platform beyond travel planning by providing a payment option that connects visitor spending more directly with businesses across Thailand.
