GAC Aion opened its Thailand plant in Rayong, inside the Eastern Economic Corridor, in July 2024 — the company's first overseas plant — with a reported first-phase annual capacity of 50,000 units. Local assembly of the Aion V was reported from April 2025. AION Automobile is among the manufacturers named by BOI in its EV investment reporting.
